Our spiritual Path Begins

I did not grow up in church.  In my adult life I came to know Christian church.  I observed the amazing, the good, the bad, the ugly.  I have participated in organized religion, and I have grown spiritually, sometimes together, sometimes in polar opposition to one another.   It is my hope to gather all those who have no spiritual home.  It is my hope to reach people that are suffering in silence and in pain and who do not feel loved by God, particularly and those who feel unloved by those representing organized religion.  Full disclosure: I serve in a Christian church and I can clearly see the positive and negative impacts on people.

I believe in LOVE.  I believe in the active LOVE that is alive in all of us, the love that helps, cares, and cries out.  This LOVE is radical and independent of institutions and organizations.  I believe that there is a God.  I believe that the nature of God is to LOVE and to heal.  I believe that God has been misrepresented, reformulated, and re-presented to accomplish human agendas rooted in traditions that attempt to maintain status-quo.  The LOVE of GOD is much bigger and more powerful than this.  The LOVE and POWER of GOD is for ALL PEOPLE.  We are all human, with frailties and imperfections, facing triumph and tragedy, good and bad, love and hate.  How can we respond, TOGETHER, to change the world? 

You are not alone.  Please read that again.  Let us find ways to gather that works in our culture and context.  We all need to be connected to something.  We all need nurturing of our spirits.  We all need to be needed.   The foundation of this community must be love.  Spiritual growth and mutual support lacking judgement and condemnation will make this community unique.  Can we watch over each other in LOVE?  Can we support each other in a model of inclusion and diversity.  Certainly we can.
